Why You Should Grill Thanksgiving Dinner

October 18, 2019 by admin

bbq-thanksigiving-dinner

During the holiday season this year why not try something brand new and equality scrumptious? The latest rage is the BBQ Thanksgiving Dinner! Escape from the same old boring routine of roasting a turkey in the oven and enjoy a feast fit for a king!

Your Secret Second Oven

Time to think outside the box. Believe it or not, your grill can roast, grill, and bake any dish, from lasagna to a delicious Thanksgiving turkey! It doesn’t matter if you have a charcoal grill or a gas grill. You BBQ Thanksgiving dinner in either type.

Grilling Tips

Before starting out, remember to use the usual precautions you would use when grilling out in the summer.

  • Be aware of the heat fire to avoid burns
  • Cook over the indirect heat for most dishes
  • Use multiple burners to your advantage
  • Always check the temperature of the grill
  • Don’t cook in a windy spot
  • Save the drippings in a shallow pan for gravy
  • Keep the grill at 350 F (About 175 C)
  • Add extra flavor with cherry, hickory, or apple chips for a charcoal grill
  • If you stuff the bird, add cooking time

Charcoal Grill

Can you cook Thanksgiving with a charcoal grill? Absolutely! Start by lighting the coals. Once they have turned gray push them to the side of the grill, creating a large circle. You can play any Thanksgiving dish in the middle. Adjust the temperature accordingly. You can add more coals or simply adjust vents.

How to Grill a Turkey

You might want to start small with just a few dishes grilled, but why not try grilling your turkey? If you have the time, you might want to try a test bird before your big Thanksgiving day. Give your grill a professional tune-up first. Reserve a weekend to follow the recipe, especially if you don’t grill often. The dress rehearsal is well worth it.

Don’t use direct heat for your turkey. You will end up with a burnt possibly undercooked turkey. Instead, preheat your grill for fifteen minutes. Make sure the grill is very hot. If you have multiple burners, turn off the middle burner. Use a grill thermometer to keep an eye on the bird.

Oil the bird well. Season the turkey inside and out with seasonings, salt, and pepper. Remember that stuffing the bird will add extra cooking time. Place the turkey breast side up on a roasting pan on the grill. Expect to grill for a few hours. The internal thigh temperature should be 180 F (85 C). After the bird is cooked, let it stand for fifteen minutes. Carve the bird.

You will have to carefully time your Thanksgiving dinner if you want to grill the bird and other side dishes. Enjoy a delectable feast with your family and friends this holiday season!

Repair or Replace? A Quick Grill Guide

August 18, 2019 by admin

custom-grill-grates

The summer might be winding down, but there are still plenty of opportunities to grill with friends and family. But is it time to retire your grill? Or can you refurbish and clean your grill, maybe install custom grill grates, or have it professionally repaired? Here’s a quick grill guide to help you decide if it’s time for a new grill.

Dirty and Grimy Grills

Maybe your grill has seen some better days. Regular maintenance will help your grill last longer. However, not everyone has the time to clean, refurbish, or repair a grill. While regular cleaning after every use, repairs like installing new custom grill grates, or having the grill services will help you enjoy your grill for years to come, how can you know if it’s time to replace the grill?

If you are only dealing with standard grime and dirt, a professional cleaning will make your grill as good as new. Call our professionals today about how we can help you save money by repairing and refurbishing your grill. Our services include a thorough cleaning, checking for leaks, a complete inspection, and even disposal if it’s time to get a new grill.

Signs You Need a New Grill

While most of the time a professional cleaning will take care of any issues, sometimes you do need a brand new grill. Here are a few signs that you need to dispose of your old grill:

  • Cracked Firebox
  • Cracked Grates
  • Cracked Hoses
  • Unreliable Ignitor
  • Uneven Flames

Safety Issues

Having a cracked firebox or leaking hoses can present a safety hazard to you and your family. We can check your grill for these safety issues. While some of these fixes can be done, often the cost of the parts can outweigh the value of the grill. For example, cracked grates can cost anywhere from $40 to over $250! Some areas are hard to repair safely, like the ignitor. You will need a professional to come in and repair this type of issue.

Contact us today. Find out how we can help you clean and refurbish your grill. Our experienced professionals are happy to help you.

We compared the top grills on the market today from top manufacturers like Weber, Coleman, Smoke Hollow, Char-Broil, and Dyna-Glo. Grills were compared on a variety of points like their quality, ability to clean, use, and results. Why is this important? Some grills have high durability and usability. Use professional grill repair services on a yearly basis to maintain their high quality.

Weber Spirit E310 Liquid Propane Grill

The reviews are out and this Weber grill wins hands down. Besides having a beautiful overall design, this grill has predictable and delicious results every time. This grill was designed with convenience in mind. Enjoy three large burners and simple button ignition. This grill will need serious cleaning as it is prone to rust.

Smoke Hollow Portable Stainless Steel Propane

This is the grill for the cook on the go. Although not as conveniently designed as the Weber grill, the Smoke Hollow fits nicely on table tops and is great for outdoor parties. This grill has a solid stainless steel housing. Pay close attention when grilling. The Smoke Hollow cooks hot. The starter is in an unusual location.

Char-Broil Performance TRU Infrared 500 3-Burner

This grill provides even cooking and reliability. There have been some complaints that newer models of the Char-Broil have a less durable construction. Yet, this is definitely a grill worth considering.

How Do You Clean a BBQ After Use?

May 16, 2019 by admin

bbq-grill-for-camping

Summer grilling starts again. So you’re headed to the BBQ Grill sale or pulled out your grill from the garage. Maybe you’ve invited friends and family over for a feast and now face a very, very dirty grill. Or does your grill look irreparable after a winter of disuse? How do you clean your grill?

Regular Maintenance

Basic cleaning is minimal. If you just bought your new grill at a BBQ grill sale, then you can maintain the grill with a basic cleaning each time you cook. Do a major seasonal scrub-down with a stainless steel grill brush. Clean the grates and racks after every use. Brush of any residue then scrape the grates with a scraper tool.

After you have removed debris and dirt, wipe down the racks and grates with a damp rag. For cast iron, rub vegetable oil into the grate with a paper towel to prevent rust. Avoid heavy build-up of grease.

Charcoal grills need to be empried of ashes. Clean all the parts yearly. Use hot sopay water and a nylon brush. For tougher cleanings, use scrub pads and warm water.

Gas Grills

Clean your grates and racks each time. Clean the heat deflectors by removing them. Scrub them with a nylon brush and warm soapy water. Dry them before replacing them. Clean everything once a year.

Inspect Your Grill

When you do your annual major cleaning of your grill, look for broken parts. Replace anything that is broken. You can prevent damage by storing your grill indoors during the winter.

Cover Your grill

Prevent damage by covering your grill. This will limit the amount of dirt, cobwebs, insects, and dust that can affect your grill. A dry cover will prevent corrosion.

Time to Call the Pros

Does your grill look hopeless? You might need to call in a professional. We provide expert cleaning and repair for all types of grills. We will check for leaks and inspect your grill for damage. Save time and money. We will make your old grill look brand new. Call us today!
